NASA Is Looking For People Who Can Spend 70 Days In Bed Smoking Weed, Will Pay Rs. 12.25 Lakhs For It

NASA's conducting a series of 'Rest Studies' where the Space Agency wants volunteers who can stay in bed for a stretch of 70 days and smoke different kinds of cannabis. At the end of the successful run, the volunteering smokers will become $18,000 richer. This is approximately Rs. 12.25 lakhs!

And it's not all work, if you can call it that. Participants will be allowed to play games, Skype, even read books as long as they stay put in bed and keep smoking.

Aim of the study

As reported by Health Cure Center, the study will aim to understand these three goals:
1. The changing physiology of astronauts in space and its effects on the process of certain missions.
2. The impact of their physical state on their ability to perform in particular tasks.
3. To be prepared in advance to combat any impairment that the physiological state may lead to.

The experiment

Volunteers will be divided into two separate groups - exercising and non-exercising. While the former will involve training exercises on special equipment, the latter will be left comfortably at ease.

The duration

The study will last anywhere between 97 and 105 days, depending on which group the participants belong to. For the first 13 and 21 days respectively, the non-exercising and exercising volunteers will be able to move freely inside their bed facility.

But after that period, they will have to remain put on the bed for 70 days straight, notwithstanding tests that will include heart, bone, muscle, nervous, circulatory, nutritional, and immunity tests.
Hence proved, smoking cannabis has its perks, one being the obvious (wink), and the other involving becoming a very real and important part of human space exploration.
